Ah, it is almost February again. I remember I started blogging early February last year, so my blogs are almost 1 year old!! Time passes so fast eh? It is time to research on dedicated hosting services again to see if there are better hosting companies out there than the one I am already using. Which host do you use??

I am quite glad with my achievement this year with blogging, thanks to a very kind lady who helped me without expecting anything in return. I am so lucky to have known her (MB). So it has been a year already, time to renew my domains and hosting, and dedicated Ip etc. I am pleased that I have already earned back the money invested into blogging.

Previously, I understand that if you are on a new contract with the company, you don’t get paid extra for Sundays worked. But recently I found out, if I work Sunday as my 6^th day in the week, I will get paid time and a half!! Woohoo.

I guess I will be working more Sundays from now onwards. Working 6hours but getting paid for 9hours is awesome! Sundays are normally quiet, and you get to do all the odd jobs and fewer interruptions too.

I also just found out any hours worked above 45hours will also be paid time and a half.  I am so pleased with that!!

Today I was the 2^nd cover in my training (pre-reg) store, covering my tutor’s management day. I was so surprised when she opened the consultation room cupboard; she hid all the Christmas presents in there!

She said since I won’t see you till after Christmas, here you go, Merry Christmas! I was so touched; I never expected any gifts from her, but she did remind me not to open it until Christmas day! Oh I can’t wait. The present is actually next to me right now, I wonder what’s in there! *excited*

well, when I woke up this morning, I felt really rough, as I have this horrible sore throat. I sense that I am going to have a cold soon. Having only 5 hours sleep didn’t help much either. So today is the day. thought I’d be working in paignton, doing the carehomes once again, just like last wednesday, nightmare.

When I was checking my 1st home, I felt I was not with it at all, very very slow, then came a phone call. The pharmacist in Teignmouth is poorly and have to go home, asking me to go over there to cover him. Hmm, was that blessing in disguise? I ain’t sure.

It was sure a very busy store, with many walk ins. At the end of the day after counting the prescriptions, guess what? We did over 600 items!!! Omg. That is ridiculously busy day eh? So whether or not coming over to this store was a blessing in disguise? Well, it could have been worst in the other with the homes, who knows.

Just when I have developed a good relationship with my PDA, I was told she is leaving to another department! *Faints* At 1st I was really dissapointed, I thought everything is going to change.. How will the new PDA be? Well…. I had no clue, until today, I found out she is a very nice PDA too!! Greaat.

I have just sent her an email, welcoming her at her new job, and introducing myself. At the same time, told her everything that was on my contract, and my preferences in the stores I work in, my day offs, my hols, etc. I can’t believe how quickly she replied to my mail! And most importantly it was a positive respond. She said ‘ Thank you so much for your email, yes I have so much to take in at the moment, but do not hesistate to contact me if there is any problem with the rota.. I want all to be happy! Coolness. SOunds like a very nice PDA?? I hope it will stay the same for awhile now..

Today is a very happy day for me. I am so grateful. The manager of the store I went to work in today, helped me negotiate for a double pay rate during bank holidays. Am I lucky or what? I know for a fact that, if the company can’t find any staff to work during christmas and new year, they would have to hire locums, and locums would cost them a bomb! Locums get at least £50 an hour during bank holidays. So why not invest on their own staff? It does make more sense. Having said that, if you dont negotiate for a higher pay, they would most likely just give you 1.5 time back.

This whole week I have been allocated to work in Brixham. Thank god for the rented car, I dont have to wake up so early. Dad sends and picks me up from work, when home, mom prepares dinner, and dad do the washing. OMG. Heaven!!! My mom says I eat as if I havn’t eaten for days or am preparing for a war! Lol.. But I am soo hungry after work, I don’t know what to do after they leave.

Today was my final day as a pre-reg student at work.. The year has gone by so quickly, I still remember the 1st day I went into the shop, and my tutor wasn’t there! I started last year on a Monday, 27th of July 2009, Mondays was her off day. So another lady, a more senior staff, J, showed me around the shop.   

In this store, I met a few other collegues – spanish, bulgarian, then swedish friends, and of course the english staff there as well!! It really has been a great year, its been a pleasure working with them, they looked after me so well, see me through till I passed my exam, and now on Monday- I’m officially a full fledged pharmacist. I have to say without their help and guidance, especially my tutor’s constant nagging.. I wouldn’t have done it!

Yay!! Im finally free!! No longer a student anymore!! I SmeLL FREEDOM!!!

Do you like body shop body butter?? I totally love their stuff. But I never buy them for myself because they are too expensive, other than their Vitamin E day cream, love it, the cream is so good. You must try, but it is not cheap either, I think it is about £8.

So, yesterday, when I was shopping for gifts for my colleagues, I came across body shop, and saw a big sign on their window ‘SALES’  … I was further thrilled because the reduction was for body butter!!! They were reduced from £12.50 to £5!! Isn’t it a bargain?? I bought 3, a blueberry, raspberry and passion fruit. The latter is the best!! I thought of getting 3 of the same, but then I thought of well, get a different one for each of them (for the healthcare assistants who have helped me so much this entire year) For my tutor, I bought a gift pack cost £13, reduced from £31!! The gift bag consists of a passion fruit body scrub, body butter and a shower gel, even bigger bargain! My tutor loves smellies, I’m sure she will be pleased.

 That’s not it, coming Thursday, we will be going for Indian meal, I will be paying for drinks! So that is my contribution to the team :) After all, I got some bonus I should share it with all.  I just gotta buy thank you cards, and wrap them all up nicely, can’t wait to give them!? I realised when I was younger, I always loved surprises, and gifts, but as I grow older, I love to shop for others, it is a good feeling making others happy. Don’t you agree?
