Today, I had the priveledge to try Beef Kobe @ Yuzu, Japanese Restaurant at Gardens Mid Valley.
I did some research before suggesting a place for dinner for my friend and I, and after hopping on several blogs, I realised Yuzu is a good option for delicious Beef Kobe.
Besides Beef Kobe, we ordered a set meal that came with sashimi, sushi nigiri, chawan mushi, soup, tempura, stoned grilled beef with salad and fruits. We also ordered spicy soft shell crab roll to share.
This is the most expensive meal I have ever had in my life! The bill came up to Rm200++, but really it was the beef kobe that costs a bomb! However, it was the best beef I have ever tasted in my life. Pictures will be uploaded on my food blog, some time soon. Stay tune.
Every time when I come back from London, I have to think of ways to get rid of belly fat! Why?? Because all I do in London is eat, eat and eat, then I would also bring back lots of nice food that I can’t get here in Torquay, including Egg tarts, without fail! I miss them so much, with Chinese tea!! Best-est dessert ever. Well there are 2 different types of base, one more oily called ‘sou pei’ the other is the biscuit and more solid base.
I have always bought the Sou pei, but this time I had both. I thought the sou pei actually taste better, but it is much more oily indeed, the other biscuit base egg tart is easier to carry and bring home, because it is more solid, even after dropping the box several times on the floor, the egg tart is still intact as one!
Actually both are equally good. Which egg tart do you prefer??
I think I will need the best diet pills to help me lose some extra calories soon!! Ever since this new Japanese restaurant opened, I have been ordering sushi takeaways and delivery very frequently!
When I have cravings for nice asian food, I would have to travel to either Exeter or London, but now whenever I have cravings, I will order sushi delivery! This is so not good, especially when I always can’t resist them, and I do order a lot each time, and it costs me a bomb!
I’d go bankrupt if Torquay opens more restaurants like this! Haha.
Check out what I ordered.
Egg Sushi, Tofu Sushi, Soft shell Crab hand roll, California maki
Some people skip meals when they are stressed, but some eat a lot to release stress. Which one are you? Unfortunately, I am the latter. I realised recently I have put on so much weight especially after Christmas and new year period. I just eat non-stop.
I think if I don’t start controlling my diet, I will have to start taking slimming tablets to keep my weight down! I keep eating when I am stressed and unhappy, and I do eat more than usual. This isn’t good eh, especially when I am someone who indulges in food so much, and eats more than a normal portion for a female.
My appetite really scares me at times, every day after work I do get very hungry, but never as hungry as Wednesday night. It was after a manic day, when I did over 500 items of care homes check. So I ordered a medium sized pizza from dominos, thinking it could last for 2 days, at least it could save me from cooking for the next night.
No, that didn’t happen! I finished all 8 slices in a blink. How scary is that! My huge appetite makes me put on weight recently, I think I have to go to my friend’s place more often to use her precor elliptical machine, and have a good work out for at least 30minutes to lose some fats!
Recently I have a thing for custard, especially custard donuts, after I tried it at work a month ago. It was my first time having a taste of custard donuts and I totally fell in love with it.
When I was young I never liked custards. Now, I think I like everything I used to dislike back then when I was young and picky. Let me tell you the food I used to hate but love very much now – Celery, Onions, Garlic, Tofu, grapefruit, mushrooms, beef stomach, salmon sushi and wasabi, and custard desserts.
How about you? Anything you hated but can’t live without now?
Today I was hosting a dinner for 2 friends that I invited over to my place, both european friends who have not tried asian style home cook food.
I made my favourite Honey Soy Sauce Chicken Wings
Stir fry fine beans with chicken fillet and mushrooms
Creamy Butter prawns.
I came straight home after work, and started preparing for dinner, it took me a good 1 and a half hours to cook these 3 dishes. Phewww, I managed to get it all ready when they arrived!
We had a lovely meal tonight. Do you enjoy cooking for your friends and family? What would you cook? Come visit my food blog if you enjoy cooking and eating as much as I do.
My collegues and I just went for an indian meal. This place is highly recommended by my collegues due to its high quality food. Tonight, we came to this place for dinner again. Well the bill came to £68.17 for 4 of us. We gave about £75, of course waiting for the change to be given back to us. We were thinking of giving tips. However, the change never came back.
What kind of service is this? I never knew the english culture is like that?? or is it just this restaurant that assumes all customers give tips. I mean that is £7 extra. That may not be alot, but we have the rights to decide whether we think the service is worth giving the tips eh?? What is your say? Have you had similar experience in the past?
Well I still havn’t disclose which restaurant eh? It is the Himalaya, in Babbacombe, Torquay.
Have you watched Toy Story 3?? I went for the 3D in Apollo Torbay 2 days ago. It was out for awhile already in Malaysia, but only just released on 19th of July here in UK..How did I find the show?? Find out more here..
Then before movie, My friend and I went to Magic Bowl Restaurant again! Hehe.. If you followed my blogs, you’d know the owner is from Malaysia as well.. I think she kinda recognizes me since I went there several times now, and also ordered take aways from them.. You know what she asked me today?? She said ‘ Did you write about us on the internet?? There is a malaysian girl who was writing and posting pictures of our restaurant’ Lol.. I was shocked how she knew.. She said it must be you then.. no one else has posted pictures so far.. I guess we are both happy because Im promoting her restaurant FOC, and my site do get recognized as well!
By the way, Magic Bowl serves Malaysian, Thai and Singaporean dishes, check it out here.
I contemplated whether to go out today actually, thank god I did! There was a carnival going on there, was very crowded and lotsa people, with a stage and bands playing songs all night, then countdown for fireworks.. well I dont know what occasion it was, but fireworks are always great!! And it was by the beach, great day. The bands ended the night with the famous song ‘YMCA’.. do you know the dance moves? You must know it..
