Justin Drew Bieber was born on 1st of March 1994, a young and successful canadian R&B and Pop singer. His performances were spotted by Scooter Braun on youtube, who later  became his manager. Braun arranged for Bieber to meet up with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and eventually came to an agreement and signed a record deal with Island Records, where Justin Bieber began his music career.

Justin’s 1st debut album My World was released on November 17, 2009. Four singles -  One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, Love Me, and Favorite Girl were Top 15 hits on the Canadian Hot 100 and Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

The 2nd album My World 2.0 has just been released recently in March 2010. The lead single, “Baby” was released on January 18, 2010.

Bieber was named the newcomer of the year by MuchMusic, and listed by Celebuzz as one of the Top 10 YouTube stars of the decade.

A friend recommended one of Miley Cyrus songs to me called ‘the climb’. I found the song really comforting, and her voice is not bad. Another new found talent by me I thought I’d share with you the clip I found on You tube.

The climb was actually the soundtrack of the movie Hannah Montana 2009, Miley Cyrus was the main actress in the movie, and also the singer for the soundtrack. The song is written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe and was released on March 5, 2009 as the lead single of the film’s soundtrack by Walt Disney Records. The lyrics of the song describes life as a difficult but rewarding journey. It is a country pop ballad, and was her first solo released to country radio.

Cyrus released her second album in July 2008, called ‘Breakout‘. She said the album was inspired by the things that was going on in her life in the past year. She co-wrote 8 out of 12 songs on the album. For Cyrus, songwriting is what she really wanted to do in her life. The album topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with a first week sales of about 371,000 copies.

Her next album ‘The Time of Our Lives’ was released on August 31, 2009. It was released as promotion for Cyrus’s clothing line. The song made it to no.1 on Hot Digital Songs, making her the youngest artist to top the chart.

Lady Gaga is the hottest artist at the moment. However, you either love her music or find her performance disgusting. I do hear that her image and performances being over the top is a bad influence to younger children, and of course this is more of an opinion from the older group. As for some younger people, they love Gaga they think she has got all the energy in the world, her performance and music are great. So what do you think?

I am quite neutral, I don’t care much about the performance, but I do enjoy 2 of her latest hits – Poker face (won an award in 52nd grammy) and Bad romance. I think they are great for disco dancing. We just had a gala dinner for all the pre-reg pharmacist trainee in Bristol, and the best thing was to have Gaga’s song on and you can see everyone loved it, and is full of energy on the dance floor

Gaga is an American record artist, born on 28th March 1986 in New York. Her debut album, The Fame, was released on August 19, 2008. The fame has received many positive reviews and has reached number 1 in Canada, Austria, Germany, and Ireland and came in top for the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart. The 2 singles ‘Just dance’ and ‘Poker Face’ became international number 1 hits, which later earned 6 Grammy Award nominations and won best dance album and best dance recording.
In late 2009, she released ‘The Fame Monster’ her 2nd studio album, with the global chart-topping lead single “Bad Romance”

Lady Gaga has officially announced to extend her Monster Ball Tour, through the U.K due to overwhelming response, adding new UK dates in Birmingham 28th May, London- 30th May and Manchester – 1st June.
Lady Gaga will be heading towards New Zealand 1st beginning the 13th of March and 14th of March then head to next destination – Australia where she will be there from 17th March until 9th April, covering most parts of Australia. Then to Japan for a couple of days, and finally to the Europe and England, the tour will end early June! For those who are interested, whichever part of the country you are in, be sure to buy your tickets as early as you can to secure a seat.

I’m very impressed with Alex Lambert from S9 American Idol who performed John Legend’s song ‘everybody knows’. He sang so well that it sounded good eventhough it was my 1st time listening to that song. Such ashame I did not know John Legend has such great songs! I did the usual thing after watching AI, went looking up John Legend’s music. I quite like the song, listening to it over and over again at the moment, hope to share the youtube link I found with those who have not heard his music before. He did win an award too in the 52nd Grammy. Let me know what you think. You probably have heard it before, maybe its me who is so outdated

Just a little background about John Legend.

His birth name is actually John Stephens, but better known as John Legend, he is born in Springfield, Ohio,United States on the 28^th Dec 1978. His music genres include Soul, Neo soul and R&B.He is a singer, song writer, multi-instrumentalist, and an actor! He plays the piano and the keyboard. One of his earlier albums, Get Lifted, released in Dec 2004, debuted at no. 7 on Billboard 200, sold 3 million copies worldwide.

 His second album Once Again, release in Oct 2006, and boast production from Kanye West, Raphael Saddiq. This album contains his favourite song ‘Again’ which was written by him whilst sitting in a subway.

He released his 3^rd album Evolver in Oct 2008. He said ‘”Well I think people sometimes come to expect certain things from certain artists. They expect you to kind of stay in the same place you were at when you started out. Whereas I feel I want my career to be defined by the fact that I’m NOTgoing to stay in the same place, and that I’m always going to try new things and experiment, thus came up with the title Evolver. His song Green Light surprised many fans, because the song is a lot more upbeat than most people think John is.

I am also loving Jason Mraz music. Especially the song ‘Im Yours’, absolutely yum. Anyone listening to it at the moment? I wonder if AI Aaron Kelly can sing this song, I’d like to hear someone from AI this season to sing this would be nice to watch if any of them can pull off well with this song, I bet it would be hard to be compared to Jason Mraz

This album is his highest-peaking album so far. The song was a huge success, the sales went well over 3 million!  Jason Mraz also won two awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals at the 52nd Grammy Award 2010, with the songs Make It Mine and Lucky.

I came across a video clip of a guy and a girl singing duet of this song, surprisingly they were quite good. Check this out, i found them quite cute

David cook is 2008 American Idol winner, and is by far the most talented one I have seen so far apart from adam lambert whom I think is a born talent in music industry as well. I never fancied pop rock/alternative rock songs, I find them abit noisy, but he is so good, that he made me love his music so much. Great isn’t it? Some people may find him arrogant, I think Simon thought that about him as well, but i think that makes him the cool cook, very confident and has his very own style. His song ‘permanent’ is written by him for his late brother who suffered from cancer, a heart felt song from cook.  

RIP Adam Cook. Listen to David’s speech, he is awesome, dont you think? He seems very positive and strong, and very suportive of the cancer survivors out there. We should all do what we can to help these people, there are so many out there struggling with cancer, it would be great if all of us can do a little bit, and a little bit from everyone will make a big difference. You GO, david cook!
