Did you watch The Apprentice S9 Ep6? In Apprentice, each group were given a task to make over their artist who were already country singers but were not very well known yet. After watching Episode 6, I fell in love with Emily West’s voice!! It was amazing to see the audience got silent when she performed, she touched many souls out there, you can tell, even Cyndi Lauper teared at the end. Check out Emily’s and Luke’s Videos.

Elvis Presley’s Version
I am sure everyone has heard of the song ‘can’t help falling in love with you’ right? The song was originally sang by Elvis Presley, which was adapted for inclusion in the 1961 film blue hawaii, starring Elvis Presley, the song was made famous by him when it topped the British chart in 1962. Besides blue hawaii, the song has also appeared on several other movies like Coyote Ugly, and Lilo & Stitch.
UB40’s Version
This song was so famous that until today, over 50 versions of the song has been recorded eversince Elvis days. Can you think of any artist who re-sang this song?? Ok, let me tell you a few of my favourite versions, UB40, A Teens, F4, Neil diamond, Michael Buble, Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, Richard Marx, U2 and a whole lot more.. I thought UB40 did pretty well, the melody and backing rhythm was modified slightly, but still sounded good. They made the song famous again in 1993, when the song appeared on the soundtrack to the movie SLIVER.
A Teen’s Version
A Teen’s version is lighter and is more upbeat, probably prefered by the younger group.. I think this version is modified quite alot, I personally don’t like it as much as the others.. I think this song is meant to be slower, and should have a touch of romance to it, don’t like it so ‘pop’.. yeah Im old fashion, whatever Check out Tim’s version, the best, really touches my heart *melts*
F4’s Version
Do you know F4? They were the pretty boys from Taiwan, who were so famous at one point, especially when they were in Meteor Garden TV series..They did the soundtrack for Lilo & Stitch Disney Cartoon, its also a more upbeat version, however it is sang in mandarin, I prefer this to A Teens.
At the moment, I have fallen in love with Tim Urban’s version of Can’t Help Falling in Love with you. You gotta check out minute 1.25 and 2.04, very beautifully done. Do you know who I’m talking about? Tim is one of the current season 9 contestant of American Idol, who started off really rough, but is sailing smoothly at the moment. He is like a miracle in American Idol, he did so badly and received so many negative and harsh comments week after week in AI, until the recent 2 weeks when he suddenly ’saw the light’ and started to WOW the judges and the audience, like myself
